Funky Kong is a gorilla character from the Donkey Kong Country series. He is an ally to the Kong family, and one of Donkey Kong's best friends, offering services to help them on their various quests.
Funky Kong usually provides transportation for the Kongs, allowing them to travel back to previously completed worlds. In Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, Funky took on the role of a watercraft merchant, which granted Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong access to new areas of the game world. In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Funky assumes the role of the shopkeeper, selling various helpful items to Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong and Cranky Kong.
