Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon or Fire Emblem: Shin Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Ken in Japan, is a tactical role-playing game developed by Intelligent Systems and Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. It is the second enhanced remake of the first Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryu to Hikari no Tsurugi, and the first with online capability.
Shadow Dragon tells the story of Marth, Crown Prince of the small country of Altea. When Altea, and its suzerain, Akaneia, is overrun by the evil kingdom of Grust, Marth finds himself orphaned and alone. As Marth journeys to save his country, he gains many allies and stumbles onto a greater plot, straight out of an ancient legend.

Gameplay
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon features a simplistic, turn-based gameplay design. Maps are gridded with squares, and units move based on the number of movement points assigned to their class. Terrain hinders or improves this movement, and gives bonuses to combat stats. Units are arrayed in anywhere from two to five sides, with varying levels of allegiance, from completely controlled player units and simple enemy units to neutral units allied with the player but outside of their control, to allies the player has limited control over, to completely neutral units incapable of being attacked by enemies or allies.
