Aliens: Colonial Marines features both cooperative multiplayer and competitive multiplayer.
Cooperative Multiplayer
Cooperative multiplayer takes the form of drop-in/out online campaign with up to four players, or two players offline via splitscreen.
Competitive multiplayer
The competitive multiplayer is known to include team deathmatch and a new mode called 'Escape', where the marines must attempt to reach an evac point while the aliens attempt to hunt them down and stop them. There are also other objective-based modes that have yet to be revealed.
Marines
Marine gameplay is similar to the gameplay experienced in the campaign (i.e. first person shooter with a variety of weapons and a motion tracker).
Aliens
Alien gameplay, however, is in third-person view. Alien player will be able to see enemies through walls and climb up on all surfaces.
