Mario Golf is the first installment in the Mario Golf francise and was developed by Camelot Software Planning and is considered one of the first of the modern day Mario sport games.
This was the first Mario Golf game to appear in 3D and it was also the first time that you could customise your character with up to four outfits. It was also the first time you could play with more than 2 people, allowing for up to four players to play this game.

Gameplay
The gameplay in Mario Golf was significally improved from the previous two games. It features dramatically improved graphics and ball mechanics and physics, mainly due to the fact that the game is in 3D, it features some unique hazards that were not featured in previous games, some hazards taken from Mario related games.
