Tales of Symphonia

Tales of Symphonia is a role-playing game, developed by Namco Tales Studio, initially for the GameCube. The game was later ported to the Playstation 2 and remastered for the Playstation 3, along with Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World in a package called Tales of Symphona Chronicles. It is the fifth main entry in the Tales series of games.

In the world of Sylvarant the land is dying due to a steady loss of Mana, the energy source that is needed for both magic and life itself. As crops begin to wither and hardship sets in, the people turn their hopes to the Chosen, who can reverse the ills of the world by completing the Journey of World Regeneration. Lloyd Irving and his friends must find a way to help the Chosen awake the Summon Spirits, but they’ll soon discover the fate of a second world is tightly linked to their actions...

Gameplay

Tales of symphonia has a lot of similarities to past games especially in terms of traversal. There's usually four different areas for your to progress through which consists of the overworld, towns, dungeons, and the battle areas. The overworld is a huge 3d version of the world you progress through dungeons and towns will be displayed on the overworld though they will appear smaller than their actual scales once you enter their sizes will expand accordingly. Dungeons and towns are pretty typical in terms of rpgs their where most of the story related scenes will take place as well as puzzling and item purchasing and collecting.

Artes

Tales of Symphonia uses skills known as artes to inflict heavy damage on enemies. these skills are much more effective than normal attacks as such there's a limit to how much you can do them dictated by the TP numerical gauge at the bottom of the screen. Different artes take more or less TP to execute and once the TP gauge is below that limit the arte cannot be used anymore until refilled with restorative items known as gels.
