The following is a list of item blocks found in the game:

Gem Gems are scattered throughout the Story and Challenge modes. Three Gems are needed to unlock each Exit. All Gems collected are added to the player's gem count, which can then be spent on unlocking new Prisoners.
Golden Hat Spawns randomly in Story and Arena Modes and is worth 10 gems if you manage to exit the level with it.
Hidden Gem As the name implies, these are standard gems hidden in blocks.
Hidden Strawberry These are standard strawberries hidden in blocks.
Pumpkin Pie The Pumpkin Pie takes the place of the Yarn in UGC Levels.
Rocket Pack When triggered, the Rocket Pack will launch the player up at the angle the player is facing.
Strawberry The Strawberry takes the place of Gems in UGC Levels.
Whirley-Bird When triggered, the Whirley-Bird will fly the player in the direction they are facing at a slight angle.
Wings When triggered, the Wings will carry the player a short distance straight up.
Yarn Used to purchase Weapon/Tools in the Gift Shop's second floor. Each level has one Yarn in it.
