During a peace conference between the Mages and members of the Chantry, a huge explosion rips through the Temple of Sacred Ashes as a tear in the Veil opens. The assembled Mages and Chantry members are killed, but from the newly exposed Fade steps a lone figure. Eventually, this odd stranger will be placed at the head of the newly restored Inquisition, and granted the title of Inquisitor.
