The Crew is a racing game set in a persistent, open-world recreation of the United States that's full of players to challenge. Looking to redefine the racing genre, The Crew blurs the line between single-player and multiplayer. Players will be able to tackle missions on their own or form up with a crew of other players to do those same missions.
Game Modes
The Crew will feature both a single-player component, as well as multiplayer, both of which are flawlessly merged together to provide a seamless experience.
The Single-player Campaign focuses around infiltrating criminal organizations, while the multiplayer features no online lobby and players will be able to form Crews with one another across the in-game world. Crews can then work together to complete co-operative missions, such as taking down a rival car by trying to beat the rival car against the clock.
Crews that complete a co-operative mission are awarded individually based on their own single performance, so each member of the crew can focus on being the one to give the final blow to the rival car. During the missions players choose the path they want to take to complete the mission, with the ability to take different terrain paths.
Forming a Crew
The game involves forming Crews with other friends or players in order to compete in challenges and co-operative missions. Crews have a maximum capacity of four players at one time, though players are not required to create or join a crew to play the game.

Tuning/Customization
The Crew offers various tuning kits for players to customize their cars as they wish. Tuning kits will not only offer visual changes to cars, but also change their able to adapt to various different terrain and racing conditions. These tuning kits include:
| Full Stock | Basic stock option to allow players to make their own individual changes. |
| Street | The first customization pack which includes some usable changes for day-to-day driving. |
| Dirt | Off-road changes, like internal crash cage and uprated suspension for better off-road driving. |
| Raid | Extreme or a better version of the Dirt changes. |
| Perfomance | Increase in the cars power. |
