Flappy Bird is a game developed by Dong Nguyen and released on Android and iOS. The genre of the game is probably closest to a very simplistic arcade-style title in which the player strives to top their high score each time. The game was considered too addictive by its creator and thus removed from the app stores on February 10, 2014.
While some may call the game addictive, many have criticized its high level of frustration. The game is very easy to grasp with a pick-up-and-play design, but the gameplay is also infuriating to many and has been described as sloppy. The game's creator responded on Twitter stating that, due to slightly different physics, the game is actually easier on Android than on iOS. Furthermore, Flappy Bird displays in-game ads that are often intrusive to the gameplay.
