EA Overhauling QA & Testing in Light of Battlefield 4 Fiasco

With the upcoming Battlefield: Hardline set to be released this fall, EA studios are making sure they don't repeat the failures of last year's Battlefield 4 by reconfiguring their testing methods and procedures, EA CEO Andrew Wilson told Kotaku in a recent interview.

"We're... changing the way we test our products", Wilson said in the interview, explaining that along with a new testing environment, the studio would release more betas for public consumption to stress test the system sooner and find any bugs that they may not have found before.

Wilson also went on to say that EA will be becoming more transparent in the future in regards to its development, saying:

"The world is changing. This Hollywood blockbuster mentality of 'keep all of the information to yourself' is not something that makes sense in today's world. In a world where you just don't share, you never get feedback, the only things you're ever going to make are the things you know are going to be hits. So I really want us to change as a company and start making more new stuff, and in order to do that, you have to get feedback, and in order to get feedback, you have to be willing to open the curtain and have a conversation about it early."

Whilst this is definitely a nice change of tone from a big publisher, we'll have to see if it all pays off when Hardline is released this fall.
