Duncan Walpole was an Assassin in the Caribbean who defected to the Templar Knights. While on his way to Havana with a letter for Governor Torres in 1715, Walpole's ship is attacked by pirates. Although he was able to board the pirate ship and assassinate its captain, the ship succumbed to the weather and was destroyed.
Stranded on the island of Cape Bonavista with the pirate Edward Kenway, Walpole demands help to reach Havana and threatens Kenway with a pistol that fails to fire. Subsequently, Walpole escapes into the jungle, but is caught and killed by Kenway.
