While they have largely appeared as enemies, they have also appeared as allies to Mario and his friends, such as Kooper from Paper Mario. Koopa Troops have also been playable in a few of the Mario games, with its first playable appearance being Super Mario Kart. They also appear playable in Double Dash, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart 7, Mario's Tennis, Mario Power Tennis, Mario Party 9, Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, and in the Mario Baseball series.
