Tommy is the younger brother to Joel and a non-playable character in The Last of Us. Tommy grew up in Texas with his brother and was close with him and his neice Sarah. When the outbreak first occured Tommy helped Joel and Sarah escape, but was unable to save Sarah when he was separated from the pair and she was shot.
Years later, Tommy became disillusioned with the military tyranny in the Boston quarantine zone and joined the Fireflies. An unknown time later Tommy left the Fireflies and settled down with his wife, Maria, at an abandoned hydroelectric power plant.
