Larry Koopa is one of the Koopalings, a clan of seven members that are loyal to Bowser in the Super Mario series of games. While many people thought they were Bowser's children, an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto pointed out that they are not related at all. He has tan and yellow skin, blue hair and a blue star on his left side of his face. His shell is also blue and outfitted with spikes, which are circled with blue rings. He was named after the drummer for the band U2, Larry Mullen Jr.
As with all Koopalings, his first appearance was in Super Mario Bros. 3, where he was the first one to be fought. He is also the first boss fought in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. In Super Mario World, he was the boss of the last world and in New Super Mario Bros. 2, he is the boss of the first special world (World Mushroom). He is the boss of Sparkling Waters, the third world, in New Super Mario Bros. U.
