Super Mario is a series of platformers developed and published by Nintendo for their systems. The series is one of Nintendo's flagship franchises, as it has sold over 250 million copies across all games in the series, making it the best selling franchise in video game history. There has been a Super Mario game released for every single major Nintendo console/handheld since Super Mario Bros. in 1985 on the Nintendo Entertainment System.
