Lakitu is a species of Koopa that wears glasses and rides a cloud, appearing in multiple Mario games. It mostly appears as an enemy that will throw down Spinies onto the ground and defeating it will allow Mario to use its cloud as transportation for a short while.
Lakitu has appeared as less than an enemy in recent games, as they have taken over non-enemy roles. In a large number of Mario sports games, Lakitu appears as a referee of some sorts. The one, and only, time that Lakitu appears as a playable character is in Mario Kart 7, where it is considered to be in the feather-weight class.
