Mario Kart 8 is the eighth entry in the Mario Kart series of games, developed by Nintendo EAD and released exclusively on the Wii U. This will be the first installment of the series featured on an 8th-generation main console and supports up to four-player kart racing.

The gameplay to this game focuses on teh player taking the role of many different Mario characters as Captain of their team and challenges other teams (Challenge Mode) until the player faces off against Bowser's team to see who will win the Cup of the mode. Exhibition Mode is also in the game. This allows the player to choose the captain of the team, as well as the other rosters, and challenge another team in a single game.
