Mad Hatter (real name Jarvis Tetch) is a villain of Batman's and in the DC universe. Jarvis was a research scientist who became obsessed with Lewis Carroll's work, Alice in Wonderland, so much that he came to believe he was the Mad Hatter himself. He adopted the persona and used his love for hats to implant hypnotic devices to control people. However, he has one piece of headgear he holds above all else, which is Batman's cowl, which he will stop at nothing to get.
Mad Hatter has appeared in various games in the Batman series, as well as the DC Universe. He is a boss character in both LEGO Batman games, and becomes an unlockable character eventually. His first appearance in a game was in The Adventures of Batman & Robin, where he was a boss. He was originally supposed to appear in Arkham Asylum, but was cut, although he does make an appearance in Arkham City. He is also set to appear in the upcoming Arkham Origins, where he is supposed to play a larger role than in previous games.
