11/10 Uncharted 3 is perfect and balance game, i love how the director manage this game very polished without filler and unimportant character development but you know this game works to make player know and feel everything that what the developer want...

As a big fan of the Uncharted games, I agree with ExtremePhobia in that Spec Ops's story is far more emotionally investing. Granted, Uncharted 3's story was pretty immersive if you had played a previous game or two in the series, as it dealt with characters you had grown to adore, but it is written for entertainment value. The level of writing in Spec Ops: The Line is akin to mid-tier literature, which doesn't happen often in games. There are very few games with a message, and even fewer games that simultaneously bother and enthrall you.
As far as gameplay goes, of course Uncharted is going to contain more variety, but as far as story, you can't really compare an Indiana Jones-esque action movie plot with a heavily literarily influenced work. -
so... the.s.boy... you've played Spec Ops then? You understand that the generic shooter mechanics are intentional and a satire? It has made me think more than any other game in recent memory... and it's a shooter. Quite a feat I'd say. The entire game is built with the concept that you have a choice at all times - and one of the choices is always to stop participating in the game (stop playing). How many games are brave enough to try and convince you not to play it?
If you walk away from Spec Ops: The Line and don't at least feel a little bit like a bad person then you didn't play the same game I did. And I would gladly take the "discussion of video games in the guise of a common shooter" over the "generic action adventure game" any day. -
