Hawken is an upcoming, first-person, mech-based shooter, being developed by Adhesive Games and being published by Meteor Entertainment. It is scheduled for release as a free-to-play title on Decemeber 12th 2012 for Windows PC and a sign-up for the Beta version is available on the games website.
The game itself is set in a dystopian human-colonized planet that has been over industrialised to the point of collapse, making the hunt for resources a deadly battle for survival.

Gameplay
In Hawken the player takes up the role of a battle mech pilot, controlling the mech through a first-person perspective. The developers have stated that they have taken a balanced approach to the pace and gameplay, combining the feel of action focused shooters with MechWarrior - a game more focused on RPG/Simulation style gameplay.
Game Modes
It is confirmed that there will be four different game modes in Hawken.
Weapons
There are two weapon catagories, primary and secondary. Neither use ammuniton and instead overheat with continued usage.
Mech Types
Featuring some RPG elements, Hawken allows the player to customize their Mech so that they perform differently in comba, though little is known about it so far.

Maps
It is confirmed that there will be 7 different maps in Hawken, each with 5 distinct looking environments. The gameplay focues on taking cover in combat and thus the maps are designed without large open spaces.
