Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don't Know! is a dungeon crawler that is played from a top-down view. It can be played by one person or up to four, cooperatively, and the overall goal of the game is make it through all 100 floors of the Royal Dungeon., using one of four starting characters or more that are unlocked.

Items

Items are things that can be acquired by accomplishing side quests or by buying them from the Choose Goose when visiting the surface. They can be bought using treasure that is found throughout the game's various dungeons. Most items have some sort of beneficial effect on gameplay. Melee Weapons and Projectile Weapons give the player new attacks to use, whereas Boosts provide special stat bonuses.

Dungeons

The majority of the gameplay of Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don't Know takes place in the games one hundred various dungeons. As the player progresses deeper through the dungeons, the environment will change between four different dungeon types: Dungeon, Ice, Ruins, and Laboratory. Each different dungeon type will change the appearance of the levels and will make different enemy types appear.
