The rampaging rumor train that is Call of Duty: Ghosts's resolution on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 has arrived at Confirmation Station. Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin took to Twitter today to confirm that the Xbox One version's native resolution is lower than that of the PlayStation 4.
"Hey, been on the road last couple weeks so haven’t had a chance to update, but wanted to confirm that for Xbox One we’re 1080p upscaled from 720p. And, we’re native 1080p on PS4. We optimized each console to hit 60 FPS and the game looks great on both. Still on the road, but glad to see the great reception to Extinction. Can’t wait for next week's launch," said Rubin.
This news comes shortly after Digital Foundry's analysis of EA/DICE shooter Battlefield 4 revealed that that game runs on 720p on Xbox One and 900p on PlayStation 4. If this becomes a trend, the future could be rough for Xbox One owners.
Call of Duty: Ghosts releases November 5th for PlayStation 3, Wii U, Xbox 360 and PC and is a launch title for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
