While there are many Toads in the species, there are a few that stand out from the others, with Blue Toad being one of those. He first made his appearance in New Super Mario Bros. Wii as one of the playable characters, alongside Mario, Luigi, and Yellow Toad. He appears again in New Super Mario Bros. U as a playable character again, alongside the same three characters. His only other appearance besides the two above was in Mario Party 9, as the host of the minigame mode.
He is shown to be courageous, something most Toads don't tend to be, as he runs along with Mario, Luigi and Yellow Toad to try and save Princess Peach from Bowser in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. He is also shown to be compassionate and very joyful.
