Iggy Koopa is one of the Koopalings, a clan of seven members that are loyal to Bowser in the Super Mario series of games. While many people thought they were Bowser's children, an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto pointed out that they are not related at all. He is usually shown as demented and a genius with machines, as well as being the tallest Koopaling. He has glasses, usually shown as big and with thick lenses, and has green hair. He is named after the famous punk rock singer, Iggy Pop.

His first appearance was in Super Mario Bros. 3, where he was the boss of the fourth world. In Super Mario World, he was the very first Koopaling fought in the game. He is the boss of the fifth world in New Super Mario Bros. Wii and New Super Mario Bros. U, as well as the boss of the second world in New Super Mario Bros. 2. He also appears in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, where he is a boss in Bowser's Castle leading up to the final boss battle with Bowser.
