Lemmy Koopa is one of the Koopalings, a clan of seven members that are loyal to Bowser in the Super Mario series of games. While many people thought they were Bowser's children, an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto pointed out that they are not related at all. Although he may look like the youngest, he is actually the second oldest next to Ludwig von Koopa. He is usually seen balancing on top of a ball and his most defining characteristic is his multi-colored mohawk. He is named after the lead singer of the band Motorhead, Lemmy Kilmister.
His first appearance was in Super Mario Bros. 3, where he was the boss of the sixth world. In Super Mario World, he is the boss of Vanilla Dome, the third world in the game; he is also the boss of the third world in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. He is the boss of World Flower in New Super Mario Bros. 2, which makes him the second-to-last Koopaling fought in the game. In New Super Mario Bros. U, he is the very first Koopaling fought. Aside from Mario World, all other encounters have Lemmy on his ball. He also appeared in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga as a boss leading up to the final battle with Bowser.
