Mortal Kombat is a series of fighting games created by Ed Boon and John Tobias. Originally planned as a game based on Jean-Claude Van Damme the creators decided to make a game based loosely on Enter the Dragon. This idea morphed into a fighting game that starred digitally captured martial artists in its first three installments.
