Jarrod GarripoliI think movie adaptations that have to follow a strict story have a tougher time than those that do not. For example, if a movie was made for The Last of Us, there's only one bit of source material to draw from, whereas a movie about Assassin's Creed has plenty more and will likely be able to have a standalone story.
