To unlock the ability to drive bikes in 50cc cup races earn all of the trophies on each 50cc cup race

Boost Start

As soon as the quot2quot begins to fade in the countdown at the beginning of a race hit and hold A until the race starts This will give you the maximum starting boost

Boost when recovering from a fall

When you fall into something such as water or falling from rainbow road when you land if you hit 2 at the moment you hit the ground you get a temporary boost

Change Mii Racer weight class

Go into the Mii Channel and change your Mii drivers weight which will have an in game impact causing you to change weight class and have different cars

These places all have shortcuts coconut mall after you go up the first ecalator on the right keep going right you will see a open shop use a mushroom or 3 and you will pass everyone grumble volcano when you are near the finish of the first lap on manual jump on ramp while using a mushroom to get to a rock then drive round it twice and you will have won the race maple treeway after the rickety bridge you will see 3 paths go for the left or right one and you will see a speed ramp use it and you will speed up

Dodge The Dreaded Blue Shell

If Your In 1st place you probably Pray a Spiny shell wont get you But you can dodge using 2 ways the Unlikely of the 2 is to mini turbo to turn Sharply around a corner

The Easier way is to use a mushroon At The second it starts to Decend on you This way is very Easy Many people think Getting a mushroom is impossible to get in first place but in fact is very rare but not impossible

Dodging Pow Blocks

When a pow sign comes on the screen shake the romote like you would when you jump Shake it a few times until the pow is gone You should spin 2 times but when you hit the ground you will still have some speed

Dodging Red and Green Shells

Here are good techniques to dodge red and green turtle shells while racing

To dodge red shells put a banana behind you by either dropping it there or holding it there When the red shell collides with the banana its effects will be nullified allowing you to proceed with the race unhindered

To dodge green shells use the same technique as listed for the red shell above if the shell is coming straight at you or is bounced off a wall In other situations use the threeshell weapon Red or blue shells will protect you from the green shells in these situations

Dodging That Queer Blue Shell

Option 1 You have a speed boost powerup or invincibility star of some kind Just when the blue shell is above you use your powerup so that the blue shell hits something just not you

I039ve only done this on the Nintendo Wii but it might work on the Nintendo DS You might of noticed when racing if you go behind another racer you039l get a boost it looks like those fire shield type things on commets You get one of those on your car but blue So if you play 2Player or more but I039ll just demonstrate with 2 you can go behind Player 2 then you039l get boosted infront of them Then Player 2 dose the same on you then you do it on Player 2 so on so on and you both constantly get fast boosts until the end of the race Clever huh

More than one person can be the same character

First make P1 choose the character you both want to be Then unselect the character and move off of it Move P2 over and select the character Go back one screen then go into the character select again You should both be on the same character Both of you select the character Do whatever you want from there on

POW Block Immunity

When you see the POW block on your screen and its about to hit you just do the function you would normally use for a trick to create a shockwave for youself to become immune to the spin out the POW block creates Control panel on GCN controller Shaking Wii wheel etc This can be done on both bikes and carts Even though you dont loose speed or spin out you still will loose the items you were carrying

Quick recovery

When you fall into an obstacle press 2 precisely when you land You will get a short boost to start moving again

Quick start

Hold 2 when the countdown reaches quot2quot and that number begins to fade

Secret endingnew title screen backgrounds

Beat All Cups in First place These have the same unlock conditionsAnd After You beat a Gp The Secret ending will appear And every Time You enter The Title screen A Different Character will be displayed

Shortcuts

The following are some key Mario Kart shortcuts Please reverse directions if playing on mirror tracks

Maple Treeway Between the start line and the first corner veer to the right You will see a dirt path in a gap in the fence Drive through here to find boost pads and extra boxes This shortcut drops you out right at the warp jump point
Mushroom Gorge This shortcut definitely requires at least a single mushroom boost From the start line lean left You should see a red mushroom in the distance Aim for it and just as you are about to go off the track hit the boost You should land in the middle of a red mushroom hidden below the track which will bounce you on to the next one and then bounce you back onto the boardwalk
Wario039s Goldmine During the section where you have to dodge minecarts stick to the left Follow the last minecart You will notice that it is lifted off the track aim to drive under it and you will land on a passage way with boost pads and boxes this will let you out near the finish line
Daisy Circuit Between the first two corners and the roundabouts you should see a flight of stairs Best to boost up these but driving normally works fine This will lead to a box and a boost pad with a jump You should land at the second roundabout

You can add stars to your profile name while WiFi racing You can do so by completing Grand Prix races with a certain rank A onestar profile means yoursquove earned a one star ranking on all Grand Prix races A twostar profile means yoursquove earned a two star ranking on all Grand Prix races A threestar profile means yoursquove earned a three star ranking on all Grand Prix races
