The Recon Kit in Battlefield is basically the sniper class, although it has a wide array of gadgets used to designate enemy targets.
Sniper Rifles are capable at shooting from a far range, further than any other weapon, and they also deal more damage with a single shot. Most Sniper Rifles have a zoomable scope attached, which allow them to hit enemies from very far away. However, they are not that good up close, as the time it takes to aim the weapon is long, and the hipfire accuracy is poor. Therefore, Recon players tend to support their team from behind the frontline.
