Boxing for Wii Sports is the only game that requires both Wii remote and nunchuck, this game can be with two players but both need their own remote and nunchuck. By moving either the remote or nunchuk will cause one of the hands to do a straight jab, to block you put your hands together and cover your stomach for body shots or your face for headshots. There are more complex punches like uppercuts that are done by doing the motion with either of the controllers, you can also dodge attacks by leaning right or life like you would in real life boxing.
Your goal is to knockout your opponent which is done by punching them until they get knocked down, after each knockdown they will have a less likely chance of getting up the next time. If neither of you are knocked out after the final round the winner will be based off scores, each knockdown you do counts as a point. The one with the most points during a round wins that round, if your points are the same it will be based off health, the one who wins the most rounds is named the winner. The match will last three rounds which are three minutes each (but they tend to speed up) and only when you play single player can you gain skill points. After reaching pro status and get over 1500 points you get to face the champion Matt who gives you silver gloves if you win, you can wear them by pushing “1” during the load times.
