Golf for Wii Sports is played only with the Wii Remote and can be played between four player who all use the same remote. Like bowling there are no computer opponents to play, instead you go against your friends or try to set a new record on one of three courses. In all there are 9 holes split into three courses of difficulty easy, intermediate and expert all which are taken from Golf from the NES. You also are given four different clubs to use which are changed by pressing up and down on the D-pad, in the right hand corner of the screen is the map whose direction can be changed by using left and right. In the left corner of the screen is the wind speed and direction which can affect where your ball will land depending on how you hit it.
When you're ready to hit hold the remote like a golf club while holding down “A” and swing, a colored arrow will appear showing the amount how strong the swing was and it’s directional bend. When the ball is close to the hole push “1” to see what the slope is and “2” to look from the balls prospective. After the ball goes in your given a score and the holes par, like regular golf you want to have the lowest score possible. Unlike other when you hit pro status from skill points you don’t receive anything, your skills go up and down in multiplayer games like single player games.
