Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale is a 2D fighting game, where up to 4 fighters can participate in any match, but without any life bars for the characters. Instead of characters being KO'ed by having their life bar run out, characters can only be KO'ed by using a Super Move.
Super Moves aren't able to be used right away and whenever you want. Every character has a meter next to their portrait at the bottom of the screen. This is their Super meter and it can be built up by attacking other players or picking up any AP Orbs.
The Super meter has three levels, and every character has a Level 1 Super, Level 2 Super and Level 3 Super, each using the respective amount of meter. This is the only known way to KO opponents in the game. The Level 1 Super is usually restricted to a small area and can usually KO one opponent. The Level 2 Super is capable of KO'ing multiple characters, while the Level 3 Super can either clear the screen of opponents, or even KO opponents multiple times.
INFINITE AVOIDANCE SYSTEM
This system is put into place to give players a chance to escape from infinite combos. Once a combo reaches a certain amount of AP, the opponent is broken free and enters an invincible state. They are invincible until they either attack or hit the ground. This system also includes Supers.
