Rayman Legends has very similar multiplayer to Rayman Origins. The key difference this time around is that five people can simultaneously play Rayman Legends: up to four players controlling the main characters and an additional player controlling Murfy using the Wii U GamePad's touch screen.
The four main characters utilise the Rayman series' traditional gameplay mechanics, whilst the player controlling Murfy can perform various actions such as cutting through ropes, activating mechanisms, grabbing hold of enemies, and assisting in gathering Lums using the Gamepad. The television screen view is duplicated on the Gamepad's touchscreen in addition to occasionally hidden information, such as the location of activated buttons.
Some levels also mix platforming for Rayman and company with rhythm gameplay for Murfy.
