The Last Guardian E3 Rumors Surface

The Last Guardian

Sony's and Team Ico's The Last Guardian was unveiled all the way back in 2009, and since then it has suffered from numerous delays and annual rumors of various appearances at shows such as E3, TGS, and GDC. This year looks to be no different, as rumors of The Last Guardian coming to E3 2013 have now surfaced.

These rumors have some validity however, stemming from the image below that is reportedly from E3 Insider, which is operated by ESA, the company behind E3.

This image is far from a confirmation, but it IS listed on an official E3-affiliated web page. So there's that.

Team Ico and lead designer Fumito Ueda are responsible for Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, two of the most beloved games of all time. So you can see why one would be excited for any more information on The Last Guardian. The only question that remains is: what system will it come out for? PlayStation 3? PlayStation4?

    I doubt the game will be a PS4 title. The game has been in production since 2007. It's too far into development for Team Ico to decide to ditch PS3 hardware for PS4. Too much money and time, both of which Sony does not like wasting.

    I sincerely hope Sony announces something related to this game, even if it is moved to the PS4.
