In Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Bowser appeared as an enemy in the beginning of the game, after kidnapping Princess Peach. However, when Exor crashed into his castle, he went flying off in a different direction from Mario and Peach. He would eventually team up with Mario, marking this the first time he has ever helped him. After defeating Smithy, Bowser regains his castle and begins repairs on it.
