Alyssa Zaidelle is a member of the Academy and a major supporting character from Final Fantasy XIII-2. Starting out as a trainee, Alyssa climbs the ranks and becomes the assistant of its leader, Hope Estheim. Together, they help Serah Farron and Noel Kreiss in their journey to change the future.
It is revealed that during the events of Final Fantasy XIII Alyssa accidentally became involved in the Purge or Bodhum during a visit to her friend, Nena Stein. Although she escaped and hid from the army, she was buried under a pile of rubble and died. Thus when the goddess Etro released those who fought to defend Cocoon from crystal stasis, the resulting distortion in the timeline revived Alyssa. For this reason, Alyssa betrays Serah and Noel to prevent them from correcting the timeline and causing her to disappear.
