You will stumble across Dave's sidequests as soon as you first arrive at Longwythe Rest Area. All of them revolve around finding the missing dog tags of fallen hunters and bringing them back to Dave, so he can present them to the fallen's families. The biggest perk to doing Dave's sidequests is that he will reward you with recovery items, making it so you don't have to actually spend your hard-earned Gil on them.
