Final Fantasy XIII is a role-playing game developed and published worldwide by Square Enix for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The game was first released in Japan as a Playstation 3 exclusive on December 17, 2009. In North America and Europe the game was released on March 9, 2010. One year later In Japan, the game was released for the Xbox 360 on December 16, 2010.
Final Fantasy XIII and its direct squeal, Final Fantasy XIII-2, are a part of Fabula Nova Crystallis series along with Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Type-0. A series that shares the world mythology across all the titles. The games, however, are not related to each other, in exeption of XIII and XIII-2.
The tale of Final Fantasy XIII is woven around the intertwining lives, hopes, and ambitions of the heroes and heroines in a disturbed world that is divided into two, upper and lower portions.
