Rainbow Moon is a strategy RPG created by SideQuest Studios and published by eastasiasoft. It was released on July 4, 2012 in Europe, and on July 10, 2012 in the North American region, exclusively on the Playstation Network. After releasing two shoot-em-ups, this is SideQuest Studios first foray in the RPG genre.

Gameplay
Rainbow Moon is a pseudo-open world game, where the further you progress, the more areas you'll be able to explore. All battles are turn-based on a grid, similar to a lot of other Strategy RPGs. There are many gameplay mechanics in Rainbow Moon, although nothing overly complex.

Sidequests
There are a number of sidequests available in Rainbow Moon, which you get from talking with NPCs during the game. There are two types of sidequests, ones that are completed after doing the task, and ones which are repeatable upon completion. You will get a trophy (Side Quest Master) upon completing 40 sidequests.
Crafting
The crafting system in Rainbow Moon is pretty simple, as all you really do is fuse materials to your weapons and armor to give it bonus stats. You actually gain access to the first blacksmith inside the first dungeon. Every single piece of weapon and armor has slots available for you to put Materials you acquire in them. Each Material gives certain stats that can improve your characters' survivability. There is a downside, though, as once you put a Material in a piece of equipment's slot, then you cannot undo it. Enhanced equipment can be sold for a higher price than its base counterpart, so when you find stronger weapons and armor, make sure you sell your old ones.
Skills
Skills in Rainbow Moon are found on scrolls that must be used before you're able to learn the skill. These can either be found from monsters/treasures or from buying them in shops. There are skills that are unique to a character and there are ones that can be used by anyone. All skills, when used, consume MP, which can be replenished by paying a Healer or through the use of items. There are two types of skills; Active, which are your basic attack and support ones, and Passive. Passive skills work in the background to provide benefits to your characters, but they require you to have skill points, which you gain by leveling your characters; the more skill points you have, the more Passive skills you can equip.
Bestiary
You will run into many monsters while trekking your way through Rainbow Moon. The first time you encounter an enemy and defeat it in battle, it is added to the in-game Bestiary. However, apart from bosses, all normal enemies do not have their full information revealed. You must defeat more and more of them in order to reveal more information. Note that enemies will have slightly higher stats on Hard difficulty (they will be in parentheses).
