Aspertia City is the city that the player begins the game in. Aspertia City is located in the south-west corner of Unova. Points of interest include the Lookout and Trainer's School. The town lacks any obvious theme and is meant to replicate a small, isolated, inland city. It is the both the first time the player begins a Pokemon game of the main series in a city (as opposed to a town) and is the first time that they've begun in a location that has also included the first Gym Leader.
The Gym is a Normal-type Gym, with Cheren, one of the protagonists rivals in Pokemon Black / White Version, as the leader. It is the first Gym in the game.
It connects to Route 19 in the north.
