Driftveil City is heavily dependent on trade, being a large port in western Unova. Although Cold Storage was previously located to the south, it has since been demolished to be replaced by the Pokemon World Tournament, which attracts trainers from across all regions, not just Unova, to come compete.
The City also houses the fifth Gym Leader, Clay and his Ground-type Gym containing a conveyer belt maze.
Craters have been created within the town since Pokemon Black / White Version. The crater north of Driftveil leads to Clay Road while the one to the south leads to Relic Path and onwards to Relic Castle.
The city contains a number of notable people including the Move Lover and Move Tutor. It contains the Markets where various things can be bought and large docks south of the Pokemon World Tournament lobby.
The Relic Path can be taken back to the Castelia Sewers and Castelia City. The Driftveil Drawbridge can be taken east towads Nimbasa City and Route 6 can be taken north-west to Chargestone Cave and onwards to Mistralton City.
