Throughout the island of Pi'illo are Pi'illos that have been trapped in chunks of the Darkstone, which Antasma scattered across the island prior to being sealed in the dreamworld. Mario and Luigi can find and free these Pi'illos from their darkstone prison. There are a total of 52 in the game, although you need to free 21 of them to actually finish the game. Eldream, who counts as one of the 52, will offer you prizes once you reach certain amounts.
