Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is a first-person adventure game developed by The Chinese Room in collaboration with Santa Monica Studio and is due to be published by Sony on the PlayStation 4 in 2015.
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is a story-based game, and will serve as a spiritual successor to 2012's Dear Esther. The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, in which most of humanity has left Earth due to the rapture.

Story
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture follows the events of six remaining survivors after most of humanity is taken away by the Rapture, a biblical event which takes all good souls to Heaven. In the game, the Primary Event takes place June 1, 1984, whereas the Omega Event takes place on June 6, 1984. The majority of the game will take place after these two events, in the town of Shropshire, England. The government seems frightened of this event, as it warns that the outside world is unsafe.
Gameplay
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is a first-person adventure game. The game is a spiritual successor to Dear Esther, and as such, the gameplay is very similar.
