After all of the introductory cutscenes, you'll be inside of an inn in control of Tiz. Note that there are some hidden items around the inn and town, so run around and if you see the "Inspect" option pop up, press A to grab that item. There's a total of 7 and it might be wise to look for them all, since they can help out, since you're in the beginning of the game.

There's not much you can do for now besides check out the shops, but there isn't much you can afford at the moment. So, head to the exclamation mark, which is the throne room. If you found all of the hidden items, you should have 250 pg, so buying a Buckler, Pointy Hat and Bronze Gauntlets for Tiz will definitely be helpful.
Talk to the king and once the conversation is over, you will be allowed to leave the town. When you do, you'll get two short tutorials about Job Classes and the Tutorial Quests. The latter are short quests for things you would normally do. To access them, touch the arrow on the left side of the bottom screen and then choose the second option underneath Save. Completing these will give you some items, such as Potions and the like. Head to Norende for now.
