Wii U - Network Functionality

Nintendo will use the Nintendo Network as its main network infrastructure for the Wii U. Instead of using Friend Codes, the Nintendo Network will feature a user account system, with a single Wii U being able to have up to 12 user accounts. There will be online multiplayer, video chatting and even digital downloads. The Wii U also will have access to the Nintendo eShop, currently available on the 3DS, and a new game-focused social network called Miiverse.
