Chris Redfield is a character from the Resident Evil series of games, serving as one of the main protagonists in the first game, which was his first appearance. Since then, he has been a playable character in six other Resident Evil games, not including any Mercenaries-type games. He is described as being the typical tough guy, modeled after stereotypical action heroes.
He also appears as a playable character in Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, as well as being paired up with Jill Valentine in Project X Zone.
