The Votans are a compilation of seven distinct races, all of whom resided on different planets in the Votan star system. All of the races abandoned their homes after the Votan star went nova, threatening to destroy everything around it. In desperation, they banded together and fled to planet Earth.
In an effort to inhabit the surface of the planet, the Votans declared war on the humans of Earth and the ensuing chaos left the entire globe in ruins.
Now, the Votans and humans are forced to work together to survive, some by raiding and marauding wherever they can, and others by taking shelter in refugee camps such as Defiance.
