You don't have the skills, man! Even in the sims game in order to get the job you want or even to unlock certian achievement options your sim must have the skills. You start off like anyone else, at the bottom with no skills. But there are classes your sim can take, books they can read, and actual activities that level up your character. The highest skill level you can reach is 10, but the higher the skill level is the harder it is to reach. There are only 10 skills that are available to develop so do not get overwhelmed. You do not have to have your character master each skill, unless you want.
