Nectar Research Assistance Needed
| "I am in need of a research assistant for my evaluation of Nectar. Potential applicans should be in excellent physical condition, should possess a knack for adventure, and of course, an appreciation for Nectar. Please speak to Colette Bonnet if interested." |
Well, go offer your assistance!
In the Back of the Cellar
| "It is a little known fact that the Nectary here in town is centuries old and the cellars below date back to those times. There are some truly ancient bottles down there. If I had just one of those bottles I could break down its ingredients and uncover so much about the lost art of Nectar making. Go to the cellar and find a bottle of Nectar that is atleast 5000 years old. Back then they used to store them in chests so be sure to check any you find. Take this keystone, it should get you into some of the older sections of the cellars." |
Go down the stairs in the back of the Nectary (by the Nectar Makers).
TOMB - Nectary Cellar
Once you come down the stairs you can head straight to go into a Nectar bar room. Off to the right side between two Nectar racks (by the bathroom) will be a false wall. Collect the Nectar from the rack if you like. One of the walls on the bathroom side of this room is false and behind it is a small room with a treasure chest. Head back to the room with the stairs.
Go through the single door behind the stairs and into the room with the well with the purple water. Explore the well for a bottle of Nectar and then continue through the room and through the arch. You'll come to a small square room with another door leading out. Go through that door.
Read the sign on the right wall and then proceed through the obviously false wall in the back. In the next room with the giant rocks you might find some loot on the floor. Take a look and then head through the door in the back. Walk around the L-shaped hallway and into the room with small statues and two chests. Loot the chests and then insert the keystone into the slot by the door.
Head into the next room. That was anti-climactic, huh? Loot the two side chests and then the one in the middle. But wait! There's More! You can now tell her of your discovery. Do so.
A Cellar Full of Clues
| "Very Intriguing. As I said, many of those cellars are very ancient and almost no one ever goes down there. I'm sure the cellars are filled with secrets such as the one you discovered. Nevertheless, I am quite interested in what you have found. Please head back down there and see if you can learn anything more." |
Return to the room you just opened and stick your hand in each of the three holes in the back of the room. Then Tell her what happens AGAIN.
TOMB INTERMISSION
A Quick Follow-Up
| "I cannot help you decipher this riddle, but I have a hunch it's important. Please, you must help me! Go speak with Noelle Saint James. Noelle Saint James has been doing extensive research on the history of town and might have an idea what it means." |
Go discuss the riddles with the Sim.
To Egypt!
| "I have not heard a good riddle in some time, so your presence delights me. Let me think a minute... Pharaohs, sparkles. It sounds to me like you may be searching for some kind of gems. I have a good friend in Egypt who is something of an amateur Egyptologist and should be able to help you.My friend has been studying insects of late. I hightly suggest you collect some local insects to bring with you just in case. I'd say five Cerambryx Beetles would do just fine." |
Zoom out and find the beetles you are looking for. Thankfully these aren't like the Assassin bugs in China. Grab however many you need and then return home. Once you are capable of going to Egypt, do so.
Once in Egypt, zoom out to find the Egyptologist. Go to the sim and "Seek assistance"
Entymology
| "Yes, I would be willing to help you, but first you need to help me. Bring me 5 Cerambryx Beetles from France for my research. You are clearly a man of travel, so that won't be so hard for you will it?" |
Deliver the Beetles you already brought with you.
The Black Market
| "Ah, I see you've come prepared, thank you for your help. History tells us that centuries ago, Jean Necteaux lived in Al Simhara, Egypt for some time before running back to France with the Pharoah's daughter whom he fell in love with. According to myth, when they left they stole three mystical gems that were going to be used to make a new crown for the Pharoah. Perhaps these are the gems of your riddle. Go speak with the Al Simhara Relic Merchant Nabila Moussa who follows the less than... wholesome markets on these things and may know something." |
Find the merchant (you may have to zoom out) and seek their assistance.
The Sleazy Merchant
| "The legendary gems of the Pharaoh Anak-Rus' crown! The legends speak of a sapphire more blue than the sky on the clearest day, a ruby a deeper red than fresh blood, and an emerald more piercing green than the eye of a cobra. I will help you find them. They would be truly great treasures to own. As luck will have it, I believe I know where the Ruby of Sakhara is.Before I dispense this information, I require a simple donation to my private holdings of a 3 Relics worth at least 200 simoleons. That is reasonable, yes?" |
If you already have the relics necessary, feel free to hand those over. If not then you can find the relics in just about any tomb or you can even buy them. Conveniently enough she sells them. However you do it, give her the relics.
A Little Too Sleazy
| "I was able to locate the Ruby while you were gone. Seeing as how the Ruby didn't come cheap, if you could bring me one more Relic worth at least 500 Simoleons I would greatful. I may have a few for sale right here in my store if you wanted to purchase it, Ha Ha Ha!" |
She may or may not have relics worth enough for this. Go about finding the relic however you need to and then hand it over once you've got it.
To France!
| "Here is the Ruby of Sakhara as promised. I believe the other gems are in France. Myth states that the Sapphire of the Crescent Moon lies in the tomb of Jean Nexteaux's wife, Isael who is burried near her husband. I suggest you return to France and speak to Colette Bonnet." |
Already back to France! You heard the lady! Head home and then go to France.
Report in when you get to France and you'll be directed to head back to the three holes in the basement of the Nectary.
TOMB - Return to the Nectary
Return to the Nectary basement and dig into the glowing hole.
The way to Isael's Tomb
| "It seems the best course of action is to explore the area again as was suggested." |
Turn around, there's a keystone on the pedestal in the middle. Collect it.
If the Key Fits...
| "This key must unlock the Tomb of Isael mentioned by Colette Bonnet! Placing the Ruby must have made it appear! A key is useless without its companion lock. If the Sapphire of the Crescent Moon is to be recovered, Neo must first find the entrance to the tomb somewhere near the vicinity of the three holes. Perhaps there is a secret door somewhere around here?" |
The wall opposite the door with the keystone slot is a false wall (between the two statues). Inspect it. Collect the loot from the pedestal to and then put the keystone in the glowing slot.
At Last, the Sapphire
| "History is made by the bold, and by the looks of it, Sim. The Tomb of Isael is now unlocked and ready to be explored. What lies within its silent walls? All that remains is to find the sapphire deep within the Tomb. Sim must be careful, for it is safe to assume Jean Necteaux and his wife, Isael, had no intentions of these sacred chambers being breached." |
Go through the door you just unlocked and then down the two flights of stairs. Once you reach the bottom, take the bottle of Nectar from the floor and then head through the door beyond. Walk down the hall to the room with the two Egyptian torch statues. Take a left and go through the double doors.
In the middle of this room is a hole in the floor. Use it to reveal some tiles. You'll see one of the statues is lit by a torch. Pull the statue out one spot. Then push it all the way to the back corner. Then walk to the other side of it and pull the statue so it's in front of the tile. Push it once more to rest it on the tile. A hole will appear on the wall beside the statue. Use that hole to receive a heart keystone.
Now pull that same statue back out one space. Then push it all the way to the far back corner. Walk around the statue again and pull it so that it's in front of the next tile and then push it on once again. This will reveal a standing tile. Go stand on it. This room is now done but before you leave, there are two things to collect. Against the wall with the door leading out, there are three niches with Nectar racks. The niches on either side of these racks have loot for you. One is a chest on the same wall as the racks and the other is a bottle on a pedestal on the other side of the Nectar racks, just around the corner.
Leave the room the way you came in and walk strait across the middle room to the door on the other side. As you walk into the room you'll see a small area with two statues and then a bigger area with a well. In the room with the well you'll find two Nectar racks with nectar you can take on the right side and on the left side behind the hanging clothes is a relic you can take. On the right wall you'll see there is a false wall between the pots and clothes rack. Inspect it. There's a bottle of Nectar behind the wall.
When you're done looting, hop in the well and explore to open a false wall in the back of the room.
This is a little tricky. Pull statue one way out. Then push it into the corner. Then pull it out one spot towards the door you just came through. Then PUSH it one more spot in the same direction so that it blocks your way out. Now go to the next statue and pull it all the way out so that there's only one space between it and the corner. Both statues should be very close to each other but you should have room to walk to the chest now. Loot the chest.
Once you've looted the chest, push the second statue back the way it had come and all the way onto the gear tile in the corner. Pull the first statue back into the corner so you can get around it and back out of the room.
Head back into the middle room again. On the way to the keystone slots there is a door on the left. Go through it and in the bathroom there is a false wall in the back. It's the only wall without something against it. Loot the chest beyond and then go back to the middle room to place the keystones in the slots.
The two traps should now be off. At the end of the hall is a huge pile of rubble. Clear it and then pull one of the statues way out and back to the middle room. Push the statue onto the gear tile. This will reveal another gear tile for you to cover with the second tile. So do the same with the second statue. Once you've covered that tile, two hidden doors will open up on the two angled walls in this room.
Ignore those for now and go into the room that was behind the statues. Grab the loot off of the coffee table and the end table. Go to the back of the room to where the barrels are and inspect the wall with the odd floor. Go into the next room and on the wall with the giant fans is another false wall. Behind that is some rubble. Clear the rubble for some loot.
Head back into the previous room and then out the archway across from the couch to come out on a walkway behind two statues. Walk across the walkway to another room with a LOT of statues. This is tough, hopefully this will help.
DIAGRAM: I'm going to use the XY grid to tell you where to move the statues. The first set will tell you which statue to move and then the second will say which spot to move it to. "H" is the heart keystone and "C" is the chest in the corner of the room.
Start {IMAGE}
| 1) C2 -> D2 | 8) A5 -> A2 |
| 2) B3 -> B2 | 9) C5 -> A5 |
| 3) B2 -> C2 | 10) D5 -> C5 |
| 4) B4 -> B1 | 11) Chest |
| 5) A4 -> A1 | 12) C5 -> E5 |
| 6) B6 -> B2 | 13) A5 -> C5 |
| 7) Keystone | 14) A2 -> A4 |
This should get you the keystone, the chest, and back out of the room. Once you have collected everything, head back to the previous room and pull the statue off of the gear tile, and then go all the way around and loot the chest on the other side of the statues.
Once you've looted the chest, turn around and walk back through the double doors, across the living room area and through the double doors on the other side of the room.
In the next room, off to the left will be a metal bar on the table surrounded by three chairs. Clear the three piles of rubble in the room. Two will reveal chests and the third will reveal a door. Loot the chests and then follow the door you just uncovered into a bathroom. The wall with the unusual floor in front of it is a false wall. Inspect it.
Beyond that false wall is another room with another false wall that is clearly oddly colored. Inspect that to head into a garden. Collect the Keystone in the middle of the room, loot the chest and grab the relic from the ground.
Now head back. Head way back into the big room with the two double doors and then back further past the door that was blocked by two statues and over the two traps you deactivated with the first two heart keystones and into the room with the two statues on the two gear tiles where those two diagonal walls opened up. I once called this room the "middle room."
There are two false walls leading to two seperate rooms. Head into the one with the stacked barrels. Grab the chest next to the statue and then put anything you would like on the pedestal. This will open another false wall. Loot the room beyond and then head back into the middle room and through the other false wall.
In here you'll see quite a few fire traps. One keystone on the wall to the left of the first set of traps will shut the traps off and then the next one to the right of the door will unlock the door.
Through the door you'll come to a room with four statues and four tiles that can all be covered with four pushes. Once you've covered the four tiles, the door will unlock and a false wall will open across from it. Grab any coins behind the false wall and then head through the unlocked door.
You'll come to a very large room with all sorts of things including a giant staircase and a sort of Egyptian throne. Check all of the coffins standing against the wall. Once you've collected the loot, go over to the two statues and pull the first one out and onto the gear tile. This will deactivate the traps before the stairs leading up. Head up the stairs, cross or disarm the traps and then loot the chests to get the sapphire.
Before you report in, on the left side of this area is another false wall. In the small room collect the relic and then there's another false wall out of this room. Find it and then proceed into the next room which is really just a transition to a set of double doors. Behind the double doors is a small room with all sorts of goodies. Once you are done with that, you can report in.
Yes, But Does it Work?
| "Much like the Ruby, you must test to see if the sapphire fits. Take the Sapphire to one of the two remaining holes, inspect it for a slot, and place the Sapphire. Return to me when you are done." |
Head back to the holes one more time and insert the Sapphire into the glowing hole.
TOMB INTERMISSION
Discuss the Emerald with the Sim.
Have You Seen this Necklace?
| "Based on what you learned, I have an idea where the third gem is. History mentions that Anastasia always wore a beautiful green gem in a necklace. I believe after she died it was eventually sold at auction. Ask a handful of Sims about the auction to see what you can discover." |
Head into town and convince three sims to talk to you about the Necklace. Yeah, that's right, you can't just ask them, you actually have to convince them to talk about it because it's some kind of big secret. Anyway, I recommend the Market sims because they are always at their shops no matter the time of day.
Mmm, Nectar
| "Yes, I remember that necklace quite well. Stunningly beautiful. I was quite young when the auction was held. I was there actually, working as a server for the kitchen. It was Adele Durand who bought the Emerald necklace. Adele Durand loves his Nectar. I suggest you buy some Excellent Nectar to bring with you." |
Make, Find, or buy Excellent Nectar and Report In.
Success is Sweet
| "Thank you, this is one of my favorite Nectars! You say you want the gem from my necklace! Hah! I wouldn't give it to just anyone, but if you are working to help the town, I'll gladly give it to you. I paid less for it than this bottle of Nectar, so I am still profiting anyway, hahaha! You should head back and tell Colette Bonnet of your success." |
Report your success!
Opening the Tomb of Necteaux
| "With this Emerald, you will be able to finally open the door to the tomb. If this is indeed the final resting place of Jean Necteaux, and if what I have read is true, his final resting place contains the original recipe for Nectar, rumored to be the greatest Nectar ever created.You must recover it! The recipe could revitalize the Champs Les Sims Nectar Industry and make it the greatest source of Nectar in all the world once again!" |
Back into the tomb!
TOMB - Again Nectary Cellar
Go back down into the Cellar again and head once again to those three holes and place the Emerald in the last glowing hole.
Opening the Tomb of Necteaux
| "With the Emerald, you will be able to finally open the door of the tomb. If this is indeed the final resting place of Jean Necteaux, and if what I have read is true, his final resting place contains the original recipe for Nectar, rumored to be the greatest Nectar ever created. You must recover it! The recipe could revitalize the Champs Les Sims Nectar industry and make it the greatest source of Nectar in all the world once again!" |
Another keystone will appear on the pedestal behind you. Collect it and use it to open the door in this room. In the next room you'll see a flight of stairs and two statues in the corners. The statue to the right can be moved so pull it way out and then inspect the hole in the wall that was being blocked by it.
This will open a false wall on the left side of the room. Inspect the three holes in the floor and then head down the stairs. At the bottom of the stairs you'll come to a grey room that splits down the middle. Go around to the left side, collect the bottle of Nectar by the statue on the floor and then inspect the wall between the two statues. Then head back around the right side and collect the treasure off of the pedestal before heading up the stairs.
Up here, all you see are two special tiles and a statue. Push the statue back to activate one tile and then pull it back and let it stand on the second tile. Head back down the stairs and now go up the other stairs which were previously blocked. Walk along the outside to the next flight of stairs. At the top, explore the well.
You'll come out into a room with a couple of Nectar Racks. Take all the nectar and the money on the ground, then take the stairs leading up. From there, take the smaller stairs leading further up.
When you get upstairs you'll find a very messed up floor leading across the room. Make your way across the gap following the walk way and grabbing coins on the way. Make your way to the statue but don't move it yet. Take a left and collect the relic on the sqaure island, then go back and push the statue in. Make your way over to the Heart Keystone on the floor by the wall and then head back to the door by the stairs to use it.
Go through the door you just unlocked and down the stairs. Collect the gems from the pedestals and then the loot from the chest and check beside the stairs leading down for a hole in the wall. Inspect it and if the wall didn't open, inspect it again. then head down the stairs.
In the next room you'll find a lot of tiles, don't bother standing on them yet. Head through the unlocked door in the room, clear the rubble in the next and collect the nectar in the room. Don't forget to clear the Nectar racks too. Any rack that appears to have bottles on it can be looted.
Head through the false wall you previously opened and check the chest beyond. Go through the next door and the door just after that. In this next room, clear the rubble and make sure you check the coffin twice. Head back to the room with all the tiles.
If you notice, the four statues all point inward. If you follow where all of them point, you'll find one tile in the middle of all of them. Stand on that tile to unlock the door. Go through the door.
In this next room, stand on the tile right in front of you. This will turn off the traps and cause a blue light appear. Move into the center of the blue light and it will move. Continue to move along with the light like this. Make sure you follow the light because you'll walk into a trap if you don't. Once you make it to the end of the path by following the light, you can stand on a tile that will deactivate the traps and you can go wherever you want.
Wander around the room and collect treasure. Once you are done, head back to the beginning of the room and you'll see a small archway the leads to a very small room that's in the middle of a larger room with four sphinx statues. Head into that small room and inspect the walls on either side to reveal that they are fake. Go into the bigger room and collect the vase on the pedestal and the gem on the other pedestal. Head through the other false walls here to come to a long room with chests on either side. Loot the chests and head back to the blue light room. Walk all the way to the other end and up the stairs.
At the top of the stairs you'll come to a room you recognize. Pull the statue out onto the gear tile to let you out and deactivate the other set of traps in the room. Head past those traps and down the other set of stairs.
At the bottom of the stairs you'll find two sets of barrels. Inspect the wall between them. At the end of the hall is a double door. Go through it.
You've reached the tomb room. Go around the room checking coffins and collecting treasure from the floor. Make sure you move around with purpose because there is atleast one very tough Mummy in this room. When you've checked everything, loot the main glowing tomb in the back. Once you've flipped the switch and received the recipe from the coffin, inspect the wall just behind it and loot the room behind the false wall. Once you've take everything, head to the area that was previously blocked off by flame traps. Take the nectar from the three racks, loot the chest and go through the door.
You'll go up some stairs and come to a room with a chest. Loot the chest and stand on the tile to open a door. Now just report your success!
END TOMB
Report to the Sim to receive a very nicely priced bottle of Nectar.
