As far as I know, you can only craft potions, a soothing balm and two stews in this game. I've tried to forge and upgrade armor and weapons but have never been able to do so. Here are the recipes I've obtained throughout the game.
Diluted Health Potion - from Hans Longstride in Timbers Bend or can be bought from Raquel in Taryn Ridge.
Diluted Energy Potion - from a book bought from Raquel in Taryn Ridge. I don't think it is worth purchasing this book because a diluted energy potion hardly gives you any energy. Moreover, to make the potion, you actually decrease the value of the willow leaf. The leaf itself is worth 10 gold whereas the potion is only worth 7 gold.
Weak Health Potion - can be purchased from Raquel in Taryn Ridge.
Fisherman's Broth - recipe obtained from Harg Gutter in East Callaheim. This seems to be the equivalent of a weak energy potion.
Locations for Fishing - there are several places where you can fish for small fish - the river next to the Old Mill close to Timbers Bend, the sea coast near Taryn Ridge, the river in West Callaheim and the sea in East Callaheim.
Quality Health Potion - from the Great Potions book in East Callaheim library. The yuma plants needed for the recipe are near the first outland settlement Karn.
Quality Energy Potion - from the Great Potions book in East Callaheim library. The sky blooms are located throughout the Northern Kingdom - one in the valley where the Giant Spiders are, one next to a house near the edge of Lake Windspray and a third between the valley where the spiders are and Lake Windspray. It is guarded by a Coven Witch.
Quality Restoration Potion - from the Great Potions book in East Callaheim library. You need both Yuma seeds and Skyblooms to make this potion and their locations are listed immediately above.
Strong Health Potion - from Harl Windsin in the middle tent that is located next to the mountain pass leading to the Western Kingdom. The only place to get red fern plants is in the swamp lands in the Northern Kingdom.
Soothing Balm - you will receive the recipe from Vierne in Karn. She will not give you this recipe until you have accepted the quest from Sunclaw to bring him a soothing balm.
Greenfin Stew - works like Helga's ring for a limited time and lets you levitate.
Greenfin Location - there is only one place to catch Greenfin Nibblers as far as I am aware. There is a fishing spot on the dock next to the space where Harg Gutter stands in East Callaheim where you can catch Nibblers.
